JOB SHADOWING

PMSI Job Shadowing Program

Are you considering a career in health care?  Through the Pottstown Medical Specialists, Inc. (PMSI) Job Shadowing Program, you can get a unique and up-close view of what it is like to work in the health care field.

During this experience individuals with or without prior medical education can observe medical professionals at PMSI.  All information on the applications must be complete and submitted to info@pmsiforlife.com.  Applications must then be reviewed and approved.  PMSI reserves the right to refuse a request for any reason.

High School Senior Participants (age 17+)
PMSI will allow students to shadow/work in our practice locations with the following stipulations.

 
  • We will allow high school seniors age 17 and older only, no exceptions. 
  • Parental liability/consent form and the Job Shadowing Request Form found on the website below, need to be completed and submitted to info@pmsiforlife.com  
  • The minor will need to complete the web based First Healthcare Compliance training, same as all employees. 
  • Once training is complete, the minor and a parent/guardian must schedule a time to come to the PMSI corporate office for additional training.   
  • Any student/shadow that violates any of our privacy and security policies will be asked to leave and not return.  
  • Proof of vaccination and immunity to Tuberculosis and Hepatitis B needs to be provided. 
  • Students will be provided an identification badge, or a student ID badge can be used for medical students.  

Participates/Students age 18 and older:


 
  • Students or persons age 18 or older, can also observe providers as they care for PMSI patients.
  • Liability/consent form and the Job Shadowing Request Form found on the website below, need to be completed and submitted to info@pmsiforlife.com  
  • Student must submit a current HIPAA certificate (within current year) or complete web based First Healthcare Compliance training. 
  • Any participant that violates any of our privacy and security policies will be asked to leave and not return.  
  • Proof of vaccination and immunity to Tuberculosis and Hepatitis B needs to be provided. 
  • Students will be provided an identification badge, or a university badge can be used for medical students.  

During shadowing experiences, participants may encounter very sick and/or contagious individuals and with hazards.  Job shadow participants must accept the risk of any illness, injury or harm that result from participating in the program.  If you encounter a friend, acquaintance, or family member in the office, you must keep this information confidential and not disclose any details.
